RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MILITARY SECRETARY TO THE HON'BLE PRESIDENT (MSP):
1. Military Secretary to the President is the official head of the Personal Division. MSP is responsible for organizing, planning, co-coordinating and controlling of certain other executive functions. His main functions are:
(a) Remuneration and privileges of the President (except discretionary grant) as prescribed in the Presidents (remuneration and Privileges) Act, 1975.
(b) Protection of the person of the President and security of the office and official residence of the President as laid down in the rules for the protection of the person of the President issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
(c) Supervisory and operational command over the President’s Guard Regiment.
(d) Ceremonial functions including presentation of credentials by foreign diplomats, state banquets, receptions, formal functions like presentation of gallantry and other national awards.
(e) Protocol, engagement and appointment of the President including representing the President on appropriate occasions.
(f) State Guests (In respect of matters appertaining to Bangabhaban).
(g) Tour of the President.
2. MSP is the chief accountant of the Personal Division.
