DHAKA - Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made a courtesy call on President Md. Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban here this afternoon.
During the meeting, the President and the Prime Minister exchanged Eid greetings.
Sheikh Hasina apprised the President of the overall situation of the country. The Prime Minister also informed the President about her recent visit to Bulgaria, Japan and Saudi Arabia. The President's visit to Bhutan was also discussed during the meeting.
Earlier, President Hamid and his wife Rasheda Khanam received the Prime Minister with a bouquet when she reached Bangabhaban. Rasheda Khanam was also present during the meeting.
Secretaries concerned to the offices of the President and the Prime Minister were present.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited Bulgaria from May 17 to 21 to attend the "Global Women Leaders' Forum (GWLF)". She visited Japan from May 26 to 30 to join the G7 Outreach Meeting. She went to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) on June 3 on a five-day visit at the invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
President Abdul Hamid visited Bhutan from July 1 to 4 at the invitation of Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.
